Administrative Hearing Officers
Apply to Become an Administrative Hearing Officer
The State Ethics Commission contracts hearing officers to preside over public administrative hearings regarding complaints brought before the Commission. Hearing officers receive reasonable hourly compensation and must meet criteria established in the State Ethics Commission Act. To work as a Hearing Officer, an applicant must be familiar with the laws over which the Commission has jurisdiction and be:
- An attorney who is currently licensed to practice; or
- A retired judge of the appellate, district, or metropolitan courts of New Mexico or any federal court.
